Robert Visser is an ADAMS euphonium artist based in The Netherlands. In June 2018, he graduated for his Master of Music with professor Hans Nickel at the Maastricht Academy of Music. During his master he studied with Jukka Myllys during an erasmus+ exchange in Helsinki, Finland. Other notable professors he has studied with are: Steven Mead, Thomas Rüedi, Adam Frey, Anthony Caillet, Gerard Buquet and Nico Schippers. Aside from his academic success, Robert has also found minor success in several soloist competitions, and is continuously looking to perform in more major competitions as well.
Robert is continually looking to improve his music, and the instruments position in the music world in general. He is involved with ADAMS in Ittervoort and plays an ADAMS E3 antique euphonium. With this instrument he plays in many ensembles and orchestras. He has played with the Limburgs Youth Orchestra and the NJO Symphony orchestra. With his pianist Zhengqiu Chen he plays new and old repertoire in a fresh new duo, and he regularly cooperates with organ players. In addition he composes and arranges chamber music, with a focus on brass music.
As a teacher, Robert is trying to expand his horizons both literally an figuratively. By teaching an performing worldwide, he hopes to spread his enthusiasm for music to people of all cultures. At home, he tries to find students of all makes, and let them have fun in finding their sound and qualities. In the near future you can expect many new exciting projects from him, like a jazz quartet, a piano trio and much more!
